Workers' Compensation Lawyers Norristown

Protect your paycheck, your medical care, and your future after a work injury

What a Work Injury Lawyer Actually Does for You

Insurance companies count on injured workers accepting the first offer and walking away from benefits they’re entitled to. Hiring a work injury lawyer changes the dynamic:

  • We pressure-test settlement offers before you sign anything you can’t undo.
  • We go on the offensive when claims are denied, delayed, or underpaid.
  • We pursue the full PA benefits the insurance company is hoping you won’t ask for.

Do I Actually Qualify for Workers' Comp in Norristown?

Many injured workers hesitate to call a lawyer because they think they were “at fault” or hadn’t worked at the job long enough. PA workers’ comp doesn’t work that way.

The 2-Minute Eligibility Check

You likely qualify for benefits if you can check these two points:

  • You are a recognized employee: Most PA workers are covered from Day 1—there is no “waiting period” to be protected.
  • It happened “on the clock”: Whether you were on a U.S. Roofing job site, lifting a patient at Norristown State Hospital, or teaching for the Norristown Area School District, if you were working for your employer’s benefit, you are covered.

What You're Entitled to After a Work Injury in PA

Pennsylvania workers’ comp covers four types of claims after a work-related injury or illness:

Permanent Disability Benefits

If your injury or illness results in permanent disability, you may qualify for permanent disability benefits. Pennsylvania law allows compensation based on the affected body part, your pre-injury wages, and the severity of your impairment.

Lost Wages (Indemnity)

If your injury prevents you from working, workers’ compensation provides wage replacement benefits. Temporary Total Disability (TTD) pays two-thirds of your pre-injury wages if you cannot work at all. If you return to light-duty work at reduced pay, Temporary Partial Disability (TPD) replaces two-thirds of the wage difference.

Medical Bills

Pennsylvania workers’ compensation covers medical treatment related to your work injury. However, for the first 90 days after your accident, you must treat with one of the six medical providers designated by your employer.

Death Benefits

If a loved one dies due to a work-related injury or illness, surviving family members may qualify for death benefits. These benefits can replace lost wages and help cover funeral and burial expenses.

From Claim Filing to Montgomery County Hearings

When your claim is contested, the day-to-day work matters as much as the strategy. We handle:

  • Day-to-day communication with insurance adjusters and claims handlers
  • Medical record, wage statement, and witness documentation
  • Petition filings and litigation through the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation
  • Hearings at the Malvern (72 Lancaster Ave) and Dresher (715 Twining Rd) offices, where Montgomery County workers’ comp cases are heard

How Were You Injured on the Job?

PA workers’ comp covers physical and psychological injuries, whether they happen suddenly or develop over time. Common claims include:

Occupational Illnesses

Broken Bones & Sprained Joints

Head Trauma, Contusions, or Lacerations

Work Related Mental Health Conditions

Steps to Take After a Workplace Injury in PA

What you do in the first days after a workplace injury can make or break your claim. Document everything, identify witnesses, and follow these steps:

Report Your Injury To Your Employer

Notify your employer as soon as possible after a work-related injury. Pennsylvania law requires most injuries to be reported within 120 days, and delays can put your claim at risk.
1

File a Workers’ Compensation Claim (LIBC-100)

To formally start your claim in Pennsylvania, complete and file the LIBC-100 form. This puts your employer and their insurance carrier on notice. Errors or delays here can affect your benefits.
2

Seek Medical Treatment

Workers’ compensation covers medical care related to your injury. In many cases, you may be required to treat with an employer-approved provider for the first 90 days before choosing your own doctor.
3

Contact Win Big Law

Filing the claim is the start, not the finish. Insurance carriers look for openings to deny, delay, or reduce benefits after the fact. Call us as early in the process as possible.

Questions We Hear Most From Injured Workers

Can I be fired for filing a workers' comp claim in Pennsylvania?

PA law prohibits firing an employee in retaliation for filing a workers’ comp claim. If you suspect your termination was tied to your claim, you may have a separate wrongful termination case. Document everything and call us.

Pennsylvania workers’ comp covers the aggravation of pre-existing conditions. If your job measurably worsened an old injury, that’s compensable. Insurance companies fight these claims hard, so detailed medical documentation is critical.

An IME is a medical exam ordered by the insurance company, usually with a doctor they choose. The report often determines whether your benefits continue. Attendance is mandatory when requested. Call us before you go so we can prepare you.

You generally can’t sue your employer directly, but you can pursue third parties who contributed to your injury, such as equipment manufacturers, subcontractors on the same site, or the driver of another vehicle if you were on the road for work. These claims run alongside your workers’ comp case and can substantially increase your total recovery.

A denial isn’t the end. Most denied claims can be challenged through a Claim Petition filed with the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation. Deadlines are strict, so don’t wait. Bring the denial letter to a free consultation and we’ll tell you what’s possible.
